ABOUT THE APPLE

ZOUK31 is a is a unique golden-yellow apple with an orange-red blush.. It has a long storage capacity and good shelf life. The apple has a short stem ,a thin skin and is easy to handle. The apple has a balanced sweet and sour taste with an intense aroma The orange-pink blush occurs in moderate climates with a sufficient difference in temperature. The apple remains golden yellow in hot climates. The taste and conservation however, are not compromised during production in hot climates.

The fruits can be stored in the CA regime until the end of June. This without 1-MCP.

THE TREE

ZOUK31 C.O.V. has a tolerance to scab, this is a multi-genetic trait from one of its parents. The tree has an open structure with a strong apical dominance. The tree structure ensures good exposure of the apples in the tree. The majority of the fruits get a blush which varies depending on the position within the tree. The blush can cover up to 50% of every apple.. The harvest time is around Golden Delicious.

cultivation locations

ZOUK31 C.O.V. needs sufficient temperature difference between day and night before his blush. The apple remains golden yellow in areas with extreme heat. The taste and preservation, however, are not compromised during production in warm climates.
